I’ve hit a bit of a brick wall with the family search.

On my mother’s side of the family, we’ve not only got the two families with the same names and even the same children’s names, but duplicated children’s names (Eliza and Elizabeth…really? Really?). And between censuses (censi?) the girls kinda disappear. Married? Died? Abandoned?

In the 1911 census, baby, now teenager, Emily, just kind of disappears. I think she was “adopted” out after her mother’s death, but although she’s in the 1901 census (I think), in 1911 there’s nothing.

Even the boys are difficult to track, despite not changing their names via marriage (I hope). I had no idea how common the name “Cannon” is, especially in London.

Sigh.
